Desalnietemin is de hoeveelheid electrische energie die omgezet wordt in warmte veel lager dan bij andere lichtbronnen. Op de thermische foto hieronder wordt een vergelijking gemaakt tussen LED lampen en compacte fluorescente lampen (CFL).<br><br>Bij het ontwikkelen van LED lampen is het heel belangrijk om een goed thermisch beheer te hebben. Het thermisch beheer voorkomt dat LED diodes overhit geraken en resulteren in lage temperatuur knooppunten. Het aanbevolen temperatuur knooppunt voor hoge spanning LED diodes zou onder de 85\u00b0C moeten liggen. Indien de temperatuur hoger ligt gaat de levensduur, effici\u00ebntie, lichtsterkte en betrouwbaarheid van de LED diode verminderen. Lage kwaliteit LED diodes kunnen temperaturen tot 190\u00b0C behalen, de levensduur van deze is op zijn minst gezegd twijfelachtig.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"50%\" width=\"50%\" alt=\"Thermal management\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nextgenerationled.be\/assets\/img\/doc\/thermal1.jpg\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Er bestaan verschillende methode om de LED diodes af te koelen. We kunnen de stroomsterkte verlagen maar hierdoor gaat ook de lichtsterkte afnemen. We kunnen de LED diodes afkoelen met aluminium of koperen koelelementen. Er kan ook gebruik worden gemaakt van een combinatie van koelelementen en een ventilator maar deze is minder energie effici\u00ebnt.<img decoding=\"async\" height=\"50%\" width=\"50%\" alt=\"Thermal management\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nextgenerationled.be\/assets\/img\/doc\/thermal2.jpg\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NGL LED lampen onderscheiden zich door een heel goed thermische beheer.
